A win-win situation: for you and for the industry
The world grows ever more connected and digital technologies have a major impact on how products are fabricated in the future. With the CAS ETH AMaP Programme you profit from a continuing education at the forefront of industrial innovation. It was developed in close collaboration with the industry partners of ETH Zurich and is designed to deliver the two assets the industry needs most: innovative ideas and skilled people.
A powerful network at your full disposal
New materials and processes are the backbone of modern technology, driving innovations that address global challenges such as healthcare, cyber-physical systems, food security or energy efficiency. These issues demand a multidisciplinary approach, drawing from various fields of knowledge.
As a participant in our programme, you gain exclusive access to the ETH Zurich Materials and Processes Research Network. This valuable resource empowers you not only to advance your own education but also to conduct real-life research directly related to your work.
An expert-level education
The CAS ETH AMaP Programme is designed for professionals who hold a Master's degree (or a comparable level of education) in engineering or natural sciences and possess extensive industrial experience in materials, process engineering, or production technologies.

A tailored study plan with a strong individual focus
The CAS ETH AMaP is integrated into the ETH Competence Center for Materials and Processes (MaP), and it offers you personalised guidance through a one-on-one mentoring relationship with an expert from one of MaP’s over 80 research groups across 11 departments. Together with your mentor, you will collaboratively design a customised study plan focused on your specific interests and goals. It may include the following components:
- Research Project. Engage in a cutting-edge research project of your own design within your mentor's group, working at the forefront of current developments.
- Advanced Technical Training. Enhance your technical expertise with courses and lectures featuring state-of-the-art know-how and technologies.
- Knowledge Exchange. Share your practical industry experience through seminars and interactive formats, fostering a valuable two-way transfer of knowledge between industry and ETH Zurich.
“Working at a university exposes me naturally to a philosophy of life-long learning. I would like to share that wonderful experience with you.”Professor Ralph Spolenak, Programme Delegate (D-MATL)
